The London Ark Putney Academy dojo runs classes for adults, children and also for women only, throughout the week. We also have several satellite clubs in local schools. We are a family-oriented club and encourage people of all ages and abilities to train with us. We run one-off programmes for less advantaged community groups.
2011 was our 10th Anniversary, which we celebrated with several events focusing on appreciating the bonds between families and friends. We raised money for a charity called Sense, whose aim is to help people with multiple sensory impairments to live full and normal lives. We also travelled to New York to support two of our instructors in their promotions at global HQ.
Each year we hold tournaments and seminars, hosting visitors from other clubs in the UK and around the world. We also have close ties with clubs in New Zealand and around the world.
Seido means stillness and movement and this year we continue meditation classes as well as our technical and physical training. We value empathy, mindfulness and respect as well as confidence, communication skills and positivity.
